PEGASUS FOUNDER ERDAL ILICALI CELEBRATES HIS 60TH BIRTHDAY
Erdal Ilicali was born on January 7th, 1948 in Ankara, Turkey and came to Austria to attend the Klessheim College for Tourism and Gastronomy. He started his career at ÖVB, where he soon became the manager of the city breaks department. There he also met Renate, who was working there as a part time tour leader during her study years. In 1980 he founded Pegasus Reisen in Vienna, Austria as Tour Operator for inbound and outbound travel and Renate managed the inbound department. The two of them got married and have 3 daughters, Sabriye, Sibel and Yasemin.
Erdal Ilicali is known for his pioneership in developing new destinations: he was the first in Austria to do charter flights to Antalya (1982) and Calabria (1983). Then followed destinations like Cuba (1984), Florida (1986) and China (1991) with charters from Vienna.
Today he is working as General Director of Pegasus International Tour Operator in Moscow, developing this tour operator to a recognised company in the international market.
In January 2008 he celebrated his 60th birthday in his home country Turkey with his close family. Friends from all over the world had sent their best wishes and their nice memories with him, which were collected in a book and handed over to him as a very well appreciated surprise present. We all wish Erdal Ilicali the best for his birthday and health, happyness and success.
